Nancy's Novelty InfographicsPixabay Offers Stunning Free Images & Royalty-Free Stock

Where am I getting all the wonderful pictures for Nancy’s Novelty Infographics? Since I am a “stickler” for abiding by copyright law, either I took the pictures myself, or I got them from a source which allows me to use them in one of two ways. I may have paid for an Extended License to use photos, or I may have gotten them from Pixabay.

Pixabay has wonderful photographers, videographers, and illustrators who share over one million high-quality images that may be used freely and for free. This means you don’t have to credit the artist (but I often do), and you don’t have to pay royalties, even if you are using them commercially.

It also means you can submit your own images through an approval process to get them posted on the site. Unfortunately, I cannot educate you about that yet. I have submitted a very few pictures, which I know have clarity, composition, and color equal to or greater than other images on Pixabay. But, each was rejected with the message that says, in effect, “does not meet our standards.” Therefore, I wonder if the standard is a certain dimension, or a number of pixels, or some other technical requirement that I have not yet discovered. So, maybe I’ll try again when I have time. For now, I need other people’s beautiful images for my project. So, I’m still happy.

Because I am working on a specific project, I have chosen lots of food, flowers, and nature pics; however, Pixabay covers many topics, so visit their site to see other kinds of images.
