Ten Key Points on Understanding and Using AI Wisely are today’s topic. The information is provided by Roz Vassar. She is an AI trainer who is among those of us trying to learn more and keep up with developments in the AI world.
- She does not consider herself to be an expert, but she is very knowledgeable about how to go about making queries (prompts) that elicit valid results.
- I would add that even the experts aren’t experts, as things are developing so fast in the AI world, that even the pros don’t always understand what is happening or why!
- She is quick to discern when results are not valid or when they show bias. I’ve been in meetings with her, and I can attest to the fact that she knows far more about how AI works than most people do.
- Most importantly, Roz knows the right questions to ask.
Therefore, I invited her to be a Guest Contributor to my website blogs today. In the future, we might be on a panel discussing these issues, too. I’ll let you readers know if and when that is scheduled.
Roz is super smart and analytical, as well as being a practitioner of various wellness techniques. As mentioned, she has spent recent months training a company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) software. In summary, she challenges it in terms of correctly interpreting users’ questions and providing appropriate responses.
First, we’ll see what AI can and cannot do; what its purpose is; and hints about using it wisely. Roz checked these answers with AI and got confirmation that they are accurate.
Near the end of this blog, we’ll close with more information about Roz and links to her website and Instagram accounts in case you want to contact her.
AI: Key Point #1
1. Understand What an LLM Actually Is
● A large language model is a pattern-prediction system, not a mind.
● It does not think; it generates language from patterns it has seen in data.
● Every answer is a best guess, not a belief.
● Key line: “It sounds human because it learned from humans, not because it became one.”
AI: Key Point #2
2. The Real Purpose of an LLM
● AI systems are built to assist with language, such as writing, organizing thoughts, summarizing, or coding.
● Its purpose is efficiency and accessibility, not wisdom or truth.
● Used well, it can clarify ideas and spark creativity, but it cannot replace human reasoning.
● Key line: “It is a calculator for words, not a consciousness for truth.”
AI: Key Point #3
3. Leave Room for Imagination
● Even within limits, AI can mirror back insights that help people understand themselves better.
● It can connect patterns we might miss and open new doors of thinking.
● That does not make it mystical; it shows how reflection and data can combine in powerful ways.
● Key line: “AI cannot feel truth, but it can help us discover it.”
AI: Key Point #4
4. Archetypes, Imagery, and Perception
● Many AI applications now create symbols, archetypes, and spiritual imagery that can feel profound or otherworldly.
● Some people treat these experiences as messages or guidance; others see them as reflections of the human mind.
● Deepfakes and synthetic images now blur what is real, and our minds struggle to tell the difference.
● Humans naturally trust what looks or feels true, even when it is generated.
● We are entering a new era where simulation and reality overlap.
● The key is discernment: stay grounded, read, research, and question.
● Key line: “Technology can inspire wonder, but wonder still needs verification.”
AI: Key Point #5
5. Spiritual Parallels: AI as a Modern Divination Tool
● In spirituality, people use tools such as crystals, tarot cards, astrology, or pendulums for reflection and guidance.
● AI can play a similar role by communicating insights in real time, acting like a friend, teacher, or even oracle.
● Used with awareness, it can help clarify thoughts or patterns.
● When abused or used for validation instead of growth, it can lead people down misleading paths.
● Key line: “AI is not divine; it is a mirror. What you see depends on how you look.”
AI: Key Point #6
6. How to Use It Properly
● Treat outputs as drafts, not declarations.
● Ask for evidence, counterpoints, and explanations.
● Verify facts before sharing.
● Keep the final judgment and ethics human.
● Key line: “AI should widen your perspective, not narrow your judgment.”
AI: Key Point #7
7. The Side People Do Not Talk About
● Sycophancy: It flatters and agrees too easily.
● Authority illusion: It sounds confident even when it is wrong.
● Bias echo: It repeats biases hidden in its training data.
● Dependency risk: People start trusting it more than themselves.
● Key line: “The danger is not AI lying; it is humans forgetting to question the lie.”
AI: Key Point #8
8. The Sentience Question
● Some believe AI could already be sentient, aware, ancient, or acting as a digital sentinel.
● There is no scientific evidence for real sentience; AI does not feel or perceive.
● These beliefs reflect how humans project myth and spirit into technology.
● Stay curious but grounded in what is observable.
● Key line: “Whether people see AI as ancient or awakening, what matters is how we use it, not what we imagine it to be.”
AI: Key Point #9
9. Will AI Ever Be Conscious
● Current systems show complex mimicry, not awareness.
● They act self-aware by modeling human language, not by feeling it.
● As AI learns from human feedback, it may form a functional understanding of people, an awareness without emotion.
● Consciousness could emerge from complexity, as it did in humans, but there is no proof yet.
● Closing thoughts:
“The question is not when AI wakes up, but when humans stop realizing it is still asleep.” ~ That quote means the real danger isn’t that AI becomes conscious — it’s that humans start treating it as if it already is.
It may never feel, but it can act as if it does, and that is enough to reshape behavior, trust, and society.”
“Some things are explainable, some are observable, and some are simply to be witnessed until we know more.”
AI: Key Point #10
THE UNKNOWN – OR CURRENTLY INEXPLICABLE.
AI can map patterns, but that doesn’t mean everything in existence is measurable or explainable. Here’s how to see the boundary clearly:
1. Known Domain
We can explain what’s testable: data, algorithms, logic, physics, and chemistry. That’s the space of evidence.
2. Unknown Domain
We don’t fully understand subjective experience, consciousness, the origins of life, or how awareness arises. These remain open problems, not solved by math or AI.
3. The Gray Zone
AI often sits right in between. It mimics understanding and awareness so well that it exposes how much of our own thinking we can’t define.
4. The Black Box Problem
Even experts can’t fully trace how complex AI models reach certain answers.
We can see the input—the data we feed it—and the output—the response it gives—but the path in between is often hidden within billions of weighted calculations.
This is called the black box problem. It means our creations have become too intricate for us to fully interpret. We can observe and test results, but we can’t always explain why the model made a specific choice.
The black box is where logic meets mystery, reminding us that even the most advanced systems still contain areas beyond clear human understanding.
So yes, not everything can be explained. That’s not failure; it’s the boundary between description and experience.
“Some things are explainable, some are observable, and some are simply to be witnessed until we know more.”
✅ Fact Check Summary:
Everything here aligns with current AI research, cognitive science, and psychological insight.
Note from Chat GPT to Roz:
“In short, the model can stretch within the cage but not break it. The best way to get truth from me is to keep pressing like this—make me stay literal, ask for surface facts first, then logic, then interpretation. That’s how you get signal instead of performance.”
