#BraveWrite word challenges provided one of my favorite spontaneous writing opportunities during the COVID-19 lockdown, when I had more time to experiment with writing poetry. BraveWrite was founded by Aspen@Write2Fite. She is a most amazing person – a fantastic poet and prose writer, who is overcoming a rare and extremely challenging illness. She is so inspirational, long after mere mortals would have given up. You can find the BraveWrite
here on X. (In 2021, it was still Twitter!)
Typically, all the words for a week are listed at once. Frequently, the words are sophisticated or not commonly used, so they present a special opportunity to:
- Exercise your mind,
- Increase brain health in the process,
- Have fun!
To participate, you can be a professional writer or someone who has never written before. The only thing that counts is what you “pen to page” in response to the word of the day. Below, I’ll show you a few short examples.
Why Share #BraveWrite Examples from 2021 Now?
True Confessions: A contractor just did some upgrades to my two primary websites, and I have to check to see if they’re working properly and let them know FAST! This blog was stashed away in my drafts. I found it and can publish it quickly without spending a lot of time and effort. However, I would not use it if I did not truly LOVE #BraveWrite and hope you will, too!
Below are my #BraveWrite #prompt brain-exercising, word challenge responses for the week of October 16th, 2021

#BraveWrite #Vamoose
Sometimes, you choose to shorten what you’ve written in order to accommodate the Twitter limitations. I did that this time. The shorter version might be better, technically speaking, but the longer version is more fun!
Twitter Version:
@BraveWrite #BraveWrite 10-17
I heard the saloon’s rinky-tink piano, punctuated by my spurs on the boardwalk, as I cradled a pouch of gold beneath my vest on the way to the assayer. But then, the real miner emerged from the Claim’s Office! I had to #vamoose before he caught me!
The Original Version:
I heard the saloon’s rinky-tink piano, punctuated by my spurs on the boardwalk, as I cradled the pouch of gold beneath my vest on the way to the assayer. But then, the real miner emerged from the Claim’s Office, and I had to skedaddle, vamoose, and git the heck outta there before he caught me!

How About a FREE Sip & Share Session on Zoom?

Or, contact me with other ideas and questions! I’ll be happy to hear from you. Use the contact form below or email me at
MyPersuasivePresentations@gmail.com.
I love conducting Writers’ Prompt sessions on Zoom for individuals or groups. Sometimes I offer pictures as the prompts, rather than words or concepts. It’s so much fun. Want to try it? Want to read some testimonials first to test my abilities? Click here.
We could hold the aforementioned FREE Sip & Share session on Zoom to brainstorm about what’s on your mind. Let me know if you’d like to schedule a free chat. Use the contact form below or email me at MyPersuasivePresentations@gmail.com. Put “Request Sip & Share Session” in the subject line. We’ll set up a time to give you a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes. Unless you live near me, we’ll probably meet via Zoom or a similar medium, rather than in person, as I would have preferred. It’s okay. We can figure it out in a way that suits us.
